Mariner’s Nightmare

Inspired by the current zeitgeist, I delved into the theme of spirituality—the need to believe in something to overcome greater challenges. Superstitions, though not 'real,' fulfill a human desire. My fascination with historical maritime folklore guided this project.
Mariner’s Nightmare tells the story of a ship navigating a storm around Cape Horn. The narrative unfolds through the transformation of a classic sailor's uniform into a deconstructed garment. Elements of drape were used to evoke the appearance of heavy, wet fabric, drawing inspiration from both the ship and sea legends.
